The Australian Government Actuary

Biography

Guy Thorburn was appointed as the Australian Government Actuary in AprilĀ 2017. He has been a member of the Tuition Protection Service Advisory Board since 2018. In AprilĀ 2020, he was appointed Reviewing Actuary for the NDIA.

Prior to being appointed as the Australian Government Actuary Mr Thorburn worked in the private sector and gained experience in various sectors, including insurance, superannuation, retirement incomes and energy markets.

Mr Thorburn is a Fellow of the Actuaries Institute.

Mr Thorburn is supported by a senior team that comprises of three senior actuaries and a team of around 20 actuaries, analysts and an office manager.
